Stone Mill Lofts is one of Massachusetts’ first all-electric mixed-income multifamily properties. This restored 19th century mill is projected to use 46% less energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 33% compared to a standard, gas heated building built to the latest energy code.
R.W. Sullivan provided MEP/FP engineering, tel data/security and energy modeling services. The project was provided with central VRF air-source heat pumps for HVAC and central DOAS units with energy recovery and VRF for mechanical ventilation. Central CO2 based air-source heat pumps with heat exchangers and storage tanks were provided for domestic hot water.
