Fire Protection

As building materials, structures, occupancy demands, manufacturing methods, and storage needs have become more complex; fire protection systems have evolved to meet these demands. Our highly specialized fire protection design staff has been at the forefront of several innovative approaches to meeting these needs. Our use of the Performance Based Design approach to many non-prescriptive fire protection scenarios has distinguished RWS as one of the premier fire protection engineering firms in the region. Our fire protection design staff includes Registered Professional Fire Protection Engineers, One Ph.D in Fire Protection, and several members of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE). In addition, several hold positions on NFPA and other related Technical Committees.

RWS has been involved in the design of total fire protection systems for large healthcare telecom, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and specialty manufacturing facilities. We have also designed specialized fire protection systems for facilities requiring the use of pre-action, deluge and foam-water fire sprinklers as well as all types gaseous clean agent, carbon dioxide and dry chemical systems.
